Southport Photographic Society Archive.

As a long-established club, we have amassed a substantial collection of prints, slides, and images spanning many years.  This collection has become rather problematic regarding storage, so we have started the process of placing everything in the L&CPU archive at Manchester Museums.

This will take some time, but in the interim, we propose to show selections on this website as a taster.

Some of the images may not be of the best displayable quality as they are photographs of old prints and digitised film slides. Nevertheless, they show how photography has both changed and remained the same; what can be done with what could be termed primitive equipment these days.

Before we go on, the Society must thank Tony Thompson for doing the bulk of the work in keeping this archive together.  His time and efforts are truly appreciated.  He did have several assistants,  who will be acknowledged as we go along.  Thank you all.

The first selection is from 2003.  Mike Pollitt, a former member, put together a record book of the 2003 PAGB Print Competition.
