The society is a charity set up in 1890 to enhance and spread the enjoyment of photography. We are a group of individuals of all ages and abilities, who have a passion for photography. Based in the Southport area, it is one of the best known clubs nationally thanks to our annual National Open Photographic Exhibition, which attracts entries from the UK’s leading photographers, and our participation in regional and national competitions.
Our weekly programme includes a variety of talks and presentations as well as competitions. In addition, regular workshop meetings are held throughout the winter and photo outings, ranging all over the North West, take place during the summer.
We are a bunch of friendly folk who love photography and enjoy being part of this club. It's a great way of getting inspiration, discovering new techniques and improving your skills.
If you are interested in photography and want to learn more then why not join us. Visitors to any of our meetings are always welcome.Â
